Rotaract club of S.P.I.T. is an institution based rotaract club belonging to Rotaract district 3141. It is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mumbai Juhu. The club was chartered in the year 2012. We promote the holistic development of every individual who is working for the betterment of the society. We do qualitative projects in order to ensure that we provide maximum service to our society as a whole

Before being a good engineer it is important being a good human being and the Rotaract Club of SPIT has taught us the importance of giving it back to the society

The Club provides several opportunities to get involved in the global movement of young leaders to develop innovative solutions to real world problems which includes planning and carrying out activities and service projects which will lead to the upliftment of the community.
Blood Donation Camp was organized by 6 Rotary Clubs (JVPD Mumbai, Bombay Juhu Beach, Mumbai Juhu, Mumbai Divas, Mumbai Green City, Mumbai Versova, Mumbai North West Malad) and their Rotaracts.162 Bottles of Blood were collected ( Highest no. of blood bottles at one location this year.
In order to spread awareness about the environment, we collaborated with Bhamla Foundation for an event called “Walk for Mangroves.This initiative aimed to keep our mangroves clean and healthy as they being an integral part of our ecosystem.The event was graced by Youth Leader Aaditya Thackeray.Volunteers from about 10 colleges, NSS Units, Rotaract Clubs were a part of this project at Carter Road, Bandra.
RC S.P.I.T. collaborated with India for It’s Oceans and Mobitrash India for project Nirmalya.All the pooja remnants like flowers, leaves were collected and were converted into compost. The main task in the project was to convince people to immerse their idols in the artificial pond instead of the beach premises. Over 150 Idols were immersed till the 13th September 2019.
The members of Rotaract club of S.P.I.T. were a part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day event at Juhu Beach on the 21st September 2019. Students from schools like Jamnabai Narsee School, Bombay Cambridge School, Angel Express were a part of this mega event.The main aim was promote the idea of circular economy among the children and highlight the importance of waste segregation.
The SPIT marathon was held with the collabaration of Sports Committee of SPIT. The event saw a footfall of over 800 runners across all age groups. The SPIT marathon was held in Andheri. Not only the SPIT students but the marathon saw the partcipation of the faculty members also. The entire fund collected for the marathon was donated to an organisation named Plant and Animal welfare society(PAWS).
RC SPIT organized a T-shirt painting drive on the 14th October 2019 under its club service initiative.About 150 students from SPIT and SPCE participated in this fun filled event,The t-shirts were donated at various NGOs across the city including Shraddhanand Mahila Ashram, Matunga.
On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, RC S.P.I.T. was a part of the Cleanathon 2019 under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.The event was held in the areas of Dadar, Parel and Lalbaug.One volunteer with a resembling ‘poshak’ of Mahatma Gandhi led the rally in these areas.No of Volunteers who were a part of this project: 600 (25 from RC S.P.I.T.)
RC SPIT collaborated with Prakash Foundation to spread awareness about the issue of potholes in Mumbai. We received great support from Mr Dadarao Billhore, Pothole Dada of Mumbai who has filled about 650 potholes all by himself over the last four years.
WLL was a joint project between RC SPIT (Lead), RC NMIMS, RC Andheri, RC MNWC, RC MWE in association with AIESEC India.This project aimed to introduce Sustainable Development Goals to children and the youth and unite them in action.A one hour session on these goals was held on August 9, 2019 at Bombay Cambridge School, Andheri West.
